I first read The Adventures of Dreamer Cat in 2016 when it was a story submitted to the quarterly journal I publish, and I immediately fell in love with it. I knew this beautiful story needed to be in book form with illustrations and felt it would do exceptionally well out in the world. Certainly, for those of us who love and rescue animals, Dreamer Cat, the shy, little stray can needing a home who is the focus of this book, would reinforce our courage to continue the often hard work we do with helping creatures. And, we need that! But everyone also needs a beautifully told story in their lives, one that reminds us about unbounded love, compassion, and dedication to what we believe in. Bonnie McKinney Stevens is a skillful writer and stellar human being. Even though I have many rescued animals in my care, after reading The Adventures of Dreamer Cat, I wanted to go right out and adopt another cat. I guess "someone"heard me, because not two months later, a little rejected cat found his way to my door and now Prince Rupert is the newest member of my family - so thank you, Bonnie Stevens and Denise Merricks, for making this world a much brighter place, for myself, for Rupert, and for all beings everywhere.Product details

This is a very engaging story.I purchased this wonderful book for my 4 children (ages 7, 5(twins) and 4). Each of them traced the intricate illustrations with crayons and colored pencils. This story encourages everyone who reads to use their imagination and take a journey with an imaginative cat!
